Chapter 1- Natalia Logan
LIA
It’s Saturday, and I’m finally free, but guess who forgot to hit the snooze button on their alarm before drifting off into dreamland? Yep, that’s right—thanks for the rude awakening, buddy! I keep forgetting to do it, and it’s frustrating since I can’t fall back asleep once I’m up.
I rub my face, feeling a bit frustrated as I lie on my back, mentally kicking myself for it before finally deciding to get up. I have plenty of things to do anyway.
I make my way to the bathroom to kick off my morning routine and once I'm finished, I head to the bedroom to switch out my linen. After putting the dirty ones in the washing machine, I head to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for myself. I tend to eat early since I’m usually at work by this time.
I'm a cardiologist, just like my mom who is over in the UK, where I grew up. She’s gone ahead and opened her own practice, and I couldn’t be prouder of her. My mom was the first person who inspired me to pick the career I went with.
My dad's a journalist, and I’m proud of him as well. I miss my parents a ton, and I still haven't quite adjusted to living away from them, even though it is been over a year since I moved.
I grab a bowl and set it on the counter, but I get a little surprise when I swing open my cupboard door. I ran out of cereal.
“It might actually be a good thing. I can whip up a nice breakfast for a change since I’m not in a hurry to go anywhere.” I mumble to myself as I grab a pan and set it on the stove. After preparing breakfast, I sit down and enjoy it before heading off to finish my laundry.
My phone rings as I begin folding the clothes I washed during the week after hanging everything that needs to air dry. I grab it, and a smile spreads across my face when I see who is calling.
"Hey, Mom."
Mom and I talk for a while as she asks about my plans for the day, and she gets excited when I mention the girls' night my cousin and I are having this evening. She starts asking who else is going, expecting me to mention a guy's name even though I have already stated that it is a girls' night. She laughs when I point this out.
After chatting for a little while longer, we bid each other good day and hang up and I sigh, ending the call.
My mom has been all up in my love life, or the absence of it, ever since two years back. Two years ago, the only guy I’ve ever loved completely shattered my heart into a million tiny pieces, flipping my world upside down. He left me standing at the altar after telling me he couldn’t do it anymore. That was all he had to say for tossing aside everything we built together.
I loved him with every fiber of my being, and if I'm being honest, a chunk of my heart is still waving a little flag for him. But hey, I’ll keep that under wraps because saying it out loud feels like stepping on a Lego barefoot—just too painful to bear!
It’s been two years since that little drama unfolded, and I should be over him by now, especially considering how he tossed me aside like last week’s leftovers and didn’t even bother to send me a postcard explaining why!
I deserve better.
I was shocked to learn that he got engaged to Briana Mills six months later. I never saw their relationship coming. Her father, Nikolai Mozorov, is extremely wealthy. He owns several malls and casinos and Briana is the only child and heir to the multimillion-dollar empire.
Everyone believed he left me for her for that reason. People assumed it was all about her money, but honestly, I never knew him as someone who was materialistic or greedy. But then again, I never imagined he could do what he did to me. So maybe I didn’t know him as much as I thought I did.
Can you blame me, though? We met in alimentary and became inseparable from then on. We went to the same boarding school and attended medical school together. It was always the two of us versus the world. He was the love of my life and the only best friend I had until we met Tyler Roberts, who later became my best friend, and his then-girlfriend, Nicole Kingsley.
Aiden and I got engaged on December 25th, my 24th birthday, and planned to marry in June of the following year. I was excited to become Mrs. Wesley, and we could not wait to begin our new lives together, or so I thought. But it turned out I was a fool cause he had other plans.
It's been two years, and I am still working through it, but I can definitely say I am in a better place than I was a year ago. Since then, I have only seen him in the media. And sometimes I would pause the TV when I saw them at these fancy events and cry my eyes out, gutted all over again.
Letting out a big sigh, I shake off the dark thoughts and turn my attention to the day ahead. It’s 8:15 am, and I need to hop in the shower and get ready for Ty.
After graduation, Ty returned home, but we remained best friends. He also attended our wedding. He was Aiden's best man and was equally surprised by Aiden's actions.
I will never forget how Tyler supported me during those difficult times. When I felt like I could not breathe, he was just a phone call away. No matter what time it was, day or night. He was always there for me and never seemed to get worn out by it.
After I caught wind of Aiden and Briana, I took a nosedive back into the depths of despair—like a rollercoaster that forgot to stop at the top! My mind could not comprehend what was going on. I felt as if I was drowning.
I got some time off from work since I was struggling, and when Ty found out, he decided to take some time off, too, to come to London and be there for me. Other than my parents, he’s the only one who’s stuck by me during the toughest times, and I can’t express how much that means to me. I am grateful every day for having a friend like him.
I wrap up my shower and begin to get dressed. It’s June, and the weather is a bit chilly today, so I go with some ripped black jeans, a black top, and black ankle boots. I finish off the look with a silver coat that hits just above my knees and a matching silver beanie.
Heavy makeup is not my thing, so I apply a light touch-up, and just as I finish, I hear the doorbell and rush to the front to get it.
"Good Morning." I greet Ty, stepping aside after opening the door for him.
“Morning. How are you?” he asks as we share a hug.
“I’m great. You must be tired. Are you really okay with doing this now, or would you prefer another time? You’re fresh off a shift.” I'm a bit concerned he might be worn out since he just finished work this morning and the hospital was hectic last night.
“No need to worry about me. As a single dad, I’ve gotten into the habit of jumping right into things after my shift. I’m not going in later, so I’ll rest then," he says, proceeding inside. "Besides, I want to get this over with. Unless, of course, you’re not really in the mood to go today?" he adds, turning and looking at me, and I tell him I'm good if he's good.
I offer him a drink, but he says he is good, so I head upstairs to grab my stuff, and then we head out.
We hop into his Range Rover and make our way to the tailor. He’s having his tux tailored, and I’m having my dress made too. Tyler invited me to be his date for his cousin's wedding, and I said yes.
After the ordeal with Aidan, I decided to leave the UK and start over somewhere new, and when I told Tyler about it, he suggested I come to South Africa. I always thought Cape Town was beautiful, so I agreed.
My parents were not thrilled about my decision to move away, but they wanted to support me. So when Ty suggested moving to his neighborhood, they loved the idea because it meant I would have him and his family nearby, and they completely trusted him.
I also liked the thought of having him around. I feel very safe with him. So, Cape Town it was.
"Did you drop off Kiara at your mother's?"
"No, she's with Mom, but they are at my place. I was about to drop her off, but Mom showed up. She says she wants to cook for us today. She was complaining about how I was spoiling her granddaughter's appetite with all the junk food."
“What junk food? You don’t eat a lot of junk food.”
“Exactly. "She only caught us eating junk twice, and I swear I will never hear the end of it," he says, shaking his head and laughing. I don't think it's about the junk food, but rather Aunt Debbie's concern for their well-being.
"She worries about you. I’m sure she’s only trying to give you a break. Plus, she knows you work long hours and never ask for help, even when you need it."
“Yeah, I know.”
We start talking about how hectic work was last night, then we switch to more general subjects, and shortly we arrive at our destination.
He stops in front of the place and gets out of the car. I take his hand and step out after he opens the door for me, and we link our arms as we walk inside.

He did the fitting, and we also went to have my dress fitted. We are pleased with everything, and the process went more quickly than we expected. He needed to go grocery shopping, so I helped him out and got some cereal for myself.
"Are you in a hurry? Would you mind stopping somewhere for a bite? I’m starving; I skipped breakfast this morning,” he asks, turning on the engine.
“Of course not. Why didn't you say something? We could have started with breakfast," I say, turning a little on the seat to look at him, and as if on cue, his stomach grumbles. He says he was not hungry when we arrived and planned to eat when he got home.
We head to the nearby restaurant.
"Good day," a waitress says, advancing to us as we enter and asking us to follow her. “My name is Sandra, and I’ll be your waitress. Would you like something to drink while you look at the menu?" she asks, handing us some menus after we sit down.
"A medium orange and mango juice for the lady, and I will take a macchiato, please." Ty orders for us. He knows what I like.
"One coffee and one juice coming right up," Sandra confirms as she walks back to the kitchen.
"See anything you like?" After a moment, I turn to Ty and ask.
“I’m leaning towards this–the filet mignon with browned butter red wine sauce, roasted potatoes, and roasted asparagus sounds amazing. What are you having?"
“I’ll have the lemon garlic shrimp pasta.”
"Only that?"
“I had a pretty big breakfast this morning, and it was only about five or six hours ago, so I’m not really that hungry right now.”
"Five to six hours ago was a long time. "It is lunchtime now," he says, and just then, Sandra walks back in with our drinks.
“Here you go, one coffee and one juice.” Are you ready to place your order, or do you need more time?
“We’re ready. She will have the lemon garlic shrimp pasta, and I will have the filet mignon with browned butter red wine sauce, please," Ty says.
"Coming right up," she says, walking back to the kitchen.
“I’m heading out clubbing with my cousin later, so I want to keep it light,” I say, taking a sip of my juice.
“Oh, cool, that sounds great. Where are you all headed? I thought you mentioned wanting to take it easy this weekend.
“I did, but my cousin wanted to check out this new club, and there was just no escaping it.” Dylan's not around, so she wants to make the most of this time... or so she claims. I suppose I’ll take it easy on Sunday. I don’t know where this club is. I didn’t even ask. I’d invite you, but it’s just us girls.”
“It is all good. I'm glad to skip this one. I am pretty worn out and I am looking forward to catching up on some sleep this weekend. "You ladies, be safe and have fun."
"Thanks. We will.”
I have a cousin from my mother’s side, Sabrina. She came here during the summer holidays last year and met Dylan Forster, a businessman from Johannesburg, and they started dating three months later. She now spends the majority of her time in the country. Dylan's got a place in Sea Point, and that is where she is at right now.
Our food arrives, and I notice Sandra looking at Ty. She only gives me a fleeting glance before continuing to look at him. But I've gotten used to it. It always happens wherever Ty and I go and I get it.
The guy's hot with his tall, lean, and muscular build, plus those hazel eyes that catch your attention. He is such a beautiful man, honestly, and one of the most caring and sweetest guys you will ever come across. I am really lucky to have him in my life!
“What?” he asks, raising an eyebrow as he catches me giving him a knowing smile, and I shake my head.
“Nothing. How's your food?"
“It's good. How's yours?"
“It's good," I reply with a smile, and we continue with our food in comfortable silence after that.

Welcome to The Billionaire's Obsessed Concubine. This is the first book of the Obsessed Series. Unlike its sequels, the book is a slow burn since it's the beginning. It will, however, take you on a roller coaster of emotions, and I hope you will enjoy it.
Here are the books in order:
~The Billionaire's Obsessed Concubine
~The Obsessed Mafia Ex
~The Bad Boy's Addiction
All the books are written as standalone, so they don't end on cliffhangers.
Happy reading!
